For the individual assignment, we were tasked to make a short timeline video based on our own family trees. We had to research about the history of our own families and present our story through video format. We were allowed to pick any side of the family and were advised to do about four generations. Unfortunately I could only do three since I couldn't get any information further beyond that.

 

I decided to do the story of my father and his family. My grandfather's story of escaping war through immigration to a new land and working hard to bring up a family there is definitely worth telling.  It truly shows how times have changed, and how lucky we are not having to go through war, poverty etc. This project has definitely taught me a lot more about my family and myself and also made me appreciate what my ancestors have done for me to live comfortably.It also helped me understand that despite the differences between the past and present, such as traditions and technology, our values remain the same.
