Assignment 1A
Landscape Architect
In a group of 6, we had to compile information regarding landscape architects, such as their roles, responsibilities, drawings and so on. My group members were Vun Tse Ling, Yeong Poh Ling, Yip Xiao Jung, Tey Cheng Fern and Siew Hui. We had to prepare slides with our information to do a presentation regarding landscape architects. I am very happy to be in that team and the assignment was a success because of the contribution from every team member.

Assignment 1B
For this assignment, we have to conduct an interview with a Quantity Surveyor to collect information for a magazine. We chose Quantity Surveyor as the profession because one of our group members, Yeong Poh Ling has a sister who is a Quantity Surveyor and it will make it easier to conduct the interview. We are required to find out her company profile, the background of the interviewee, two projects in which she is involved in and her roles and responsibilities in that particular projects.
I have learned a lot throughout this assignment. I learned a lot about Quantity Surveying, their roles and responsibilities and also the difficulties that a Quantity Surveyor may face. I also learned about the construction industry, the steps and process that have to be taken, and the laws and legalised procedures that exist. Because of this project I had a deeper understanding of the building team, its organization, their duties, responsibilities and the inter-relationship that exists within that structure. Lastly, I had a greater passion for the industry after having a better understanding on it's stucture and the way it works.

Final Assignment
Development Proposal
For the final assignment, we are paired up into teams of two to come up with a development proposal. My teammate is Charles Teh. Together we had to develop a plot of empty land into something useful. There are two components to the assignment: the group component and the individual component. For the group component, we had to come up with an introduction to the site, key plan, site plan, location plan, site analysis and observation. The individual component is our proposal on how we intend to develop the land. For my assignment, I decided to develop the land into a food court and community area.
Reflection
I have learned a lot about development process during this project. Before this project, I had minimal knowledge about construction processes and procedures. I learned about all the different professions involved in the development of a piece of land and all their tasks and responsibilities. I also learned about the legal procedure needed to get approval for the development of an empty piece of land. Lastly, I had a brief understanding on how to manage and estimate the cost that is needed for a project like this.
